The Facebook experiment...

48 hours in...how are things going over there at Facebook? 57 "likes" isn't exactly blowing anyone away, but calling it a decent start is pretty fair, I guess! More "likes" would of course be welcomed, so if you happen to be bored or just feel for it, head over to the page and give HITC a "thumbs up"!

Trying my best to convince you to actually do it; here are some of the songs you've missed out on...

And a few videos...

Plus the recent additions to the Copenhagen Popfest 2014 line-up...

Plus some other stuff as well!

Farewell...?

Does this mean that the blog is dead? Don't know, but have just set up a Facebook page and plan/expect to post updates there in the future...unless of course, I decide not to...who really knows?

Tonight's gonna be a good night...

First a cup of coffee/beer and some music talk (and probably some Barça talk as well) with the very talented Jonas Villumsen...

Then the debut concert of The Mountains...

So I guess you can say that there's a fairly decent chance that tonight's gonna be a good one...

Not busy...just lazy...

Well actually I am a little busy (having the day off tomorrow, so need to get some shit done), but the real truth is that I am far too lazy to write anything of significant length...

Here's a fresh new track from 80's inspired synth-pop duo New Arcades. As usual it sounds fine and all that, but still waiting for them to hit that home run.

To any diehard fan of Richard Hawley (like me) the debut album Softly, Softly by Sheffield band The Hosts should be just perfect (to me it most certainly is)! Gave it three spins yesterday and it pretty much blew me away!

Not really music related in any way, but thought I'd share that last night I finished reading Hundraåringen som klev ut genom fönstret och försvann (The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared) by Swedish author Jonas Jonasson. Why worth sharing? Because it's arguably the funniest book I've ever read!

My inbox tells me that SXSW is coming up...checking...sure enough!

Everything I've heard so far from Norwegians Making Marks has been just lovely, so seriously need to check out the debut album A Thousand Half-Truths...they'd be a pretty good fit for Copenhagen Popfest too, me thinks!

In need of a healthy dose of vitamin D? Then check out this wonderful and very summerly video by Adrian Sieber for Hurts So Good...reminds me that we haven't booked (or even planned) a holiday for this summer! Italy perhaps?

Not lazy...just busy...

Here are a few of the topics I'd probably be talking about, if work wasn't such a nuisance and constantly dragging my attention away from the fun stuff in life:

- Whining about the number of mails in my inbox...no, just kidding!

- Copenhagen Popfest 2014. Remember the 2010 edition? It was a blast! Alpaca Sports will be there...

and so will Oliver North Boy Choir (debut concert? - not sure!)...
>

Haven't bought my ticket yet, but will...soon! Hopefully at some later point a more in-depth post of the Popfest will be up.

- Go on and on about how seriously cool the new single by Treefight For Sunlight is!

- Lobbying real hard for The Sun Days to be added to the Copenhagen Popfest lineup...

- The forthcoming Shelflife release of the 5-track EP by Australians Flyying Colours.

- And probably some other stuff as well...and now...back to work!

Smelling salts...

On his new album L'esprit de l'escalier 99-13, Danish artist Juncker has recorded a Danish cover version (called Lugtesalt no5) of Northern Portrait's A Quiet Night in Copenhagen. Interesting, different and surprisingly decent, but in the end it never really manages to evoke and copy the magic of the original. But one can only hope that this re-recording/cover by a slightly more established and mainstream artist, could help shedding a little more light on Northern Portrait or at least on the band's fine songwriting skills?
