Weekend of hearts...

This track by Tara Simmons has been on the "currently recommending" list (right column) for a while now...because it's a really cool and catchy (which has always been the main criteria when picking songs for the list) electronic pop song, in case you were wondering why...and last week the video for the song premiered...guess black and white videos are the...ahem...new black?

Some kind of nights...

Philly quartet Panda Riot has posted this new track to Soundcloud...wonderful dream pop as almost everything else this brilliant band has recorded! From a forthcoming Saint Marie Records compilation and will be included on the band's upcoming full length album as well.

Marseille...

More black and white...here's the video for the superb new Helsinki Poetry single Marseille...

Hope and destruction...

Check out this seriously cool looking black and white video of The William Blakes rehearsing new song/single Hope and Destruction...

"okayyyy...take et...MF'ers"...

All I want...

Love finding stuff like this in the inbox. The stunning All I Want by All Eyes is combination of almost everything I love in music. It's dreamy, atmospheric, catchy in a haunting kind of way and the breathy (almost whispering) female vocal is absolutely wonderful making it chillingly cool. And the video suits the song perfectly!

Dilemma...

Yesterday I taunted Depeche Mode fans and the band's upcoming world tour...perfectly timed a friend texted me last night asking if we should go to the concert together when they hit Copenhagen next year...now how exactly do one react to that one?...he's a real cool dude and I'm confident that we'll have a great time...but can I seriously go without losing my face?...but then again...Violator WAS a pretty awesome album...and some of the stuff dating back to 80's was pretty good as well...hell...even It's No Good and Precious were OK...two OK songs in twenty years isn't that bad...is it?...guess not!

Ramblings...

Just a few ramblings...

Sunday I ran a marathon (my 5th overall), setting a personal best of 3:30:17. Has (for fun) been thinking about starting a running blog instead of a music blog, but it won't happen...after all; having one shitty blog on my resume is already on too many!

Has pretty much lost interest in Spleen United, but learning that they've teamed up with Sharin Foo (of The Raveonettes) to record a new version of their track Euphoria from recent album School of Euphoria obviously made me curious. The end result is (luckily) a definite improvement compared to the album version.

Found via Börneblogger...here's the new track Memories by Sambassadeur from the limited edition and double A-sided single Memories/Hearts Away which will be out on Labrador next month. Something doesn't change and doesn't  have to. Sambassadeur sounding like Sambassadeur is certainly one of those things!

The Holiday Crowd will soon release (US only?) a new 7" single on Shelflife and preordering has started. Awaiting permission to post lead track Sick Days for streaming, which I assure will give every fan of 80's inspired guitar pop goose bumps!

Depeche Mode has just announced another album and another world tour. No one will give a toss about their new album (of course some will claim that it's their best work since Violator, but since they are always doing that, we all know it's not true), but the tour will sell out in an instant. It remains beyond me why people are prepared to pay small fortunes to hear Dave Gahan shout "reach out and touch faith" for what probably is the 117th in their lives! Oh well...

Love sea...

Swedish popsmith Tobias Isaksson (a.k.a. Azure Blue) has remixed the Alphabeat single Love Sea and though I've never really been a fan of my fellow Danish countrymen, I must be honest and admit that they've written quite a wonderful and catchy pop song here. By adding some of the "classic" Azure Blue sound Mr. Isaksson has somehow (and rather amazingly) managed the impossible task and made the song just one notch better.

Let's go bowling...

I've already praised the new Junica single Let Me Go Out...now here's the video...

J.A. recommends...day III...

Here's the new track by New Zealand one-man project Junica. A super delicious uptempo electronic pop song and as expected it sticks to your brain like a piece of gum on the bottom of your shoe! If Facebook updates are to be trusted an album could be/should be out anytime soon...

J.A. recommends...day II...

Still busy (really have no time for this), so here's another little gem brought to you by J.A. Retro Oceans by Canadian quartet Facts is a catchy and sparkling pop song that probably will bring back a few memories of sun, summer and happy days...

J.A. recommends...

Since I'm still so ridiculously busy at work (and holiday coming up next week certainly isn't making things better), I've decided for the moment to dive into the pool of recommendations sent my way by the incomparable J.A. And rest assure; it's a well that won't dry out any time soon! Today's pick it this 80's sounding (and the video is quite 80's looking as well) electro pop track Isn't It by US band Yung Life. I'm currently streaming the self-titled debut album, which is available via bandcamp (as a name your price download) and SoundCloud (as a free with no strings attached download)...

2 quick ones...

Was planning to write a longer post today (for once I actually felt I had something relevant to say), but work quickly killed those plans. So instead here are two brand new tracks to keep you entertained...

The first one is the brand new single from The William Blakes called Hope and Destruction. Still like their earlier and more "unpolished" works better! Though it's not bad by any means...

The second one if by new Danish act Windsurfing. Actually it's a re-recording of another track recorded by another Danish act (don't think it was ever released). Pretty curious to hear if anyone recognizes it?

And tonight...

...it's my intention (plans can change you know) to take the car and drive to Humlebæk to see Hannah Schneider and her "excellent one man band" perform at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. And probably look at a one or the two of the paintings on show (that self-portrait exhibition looks pretty interesting) while I'm there anyway...concerts today and tomorrow...am I setting new standards?

Tomorrow night...Michael Møller at Aveny-T...

The incredibly awesome Michael Møller will perform a solo concert (with or without band - I have no clue) tomorrow night at 9pm at Aveny-T in Copenhagen. So here's the usual plea...do you for some reason happen to be in our nation's capital tomorrow night, don't miss out on this one. Probably won't reach the magic heights of last year's marathon (and probably not as lengthy either), where he performed all 31 tracks from his A Month Of Unrequited Love project (check the video below for a sample - if you watch closely, you can spot yours truly in the background a few times), but will be damned if it doesn't turn out to be pretty fantastic nonetheless.

Hold back the night...

New single/video from I Am Kloot (from the forthcoming album Let It All In, due out in January). Not sure what the video is all about, but should give you some food for thought (e.g. if you're worrying about getting older, have been running away from things in your past etc.)...though perhaps not one of their best songs, it still grows for every listen...and as someone mentioned on YouTube, it "would make a great Bond theme"!

Home on the range...

With just under 200 views, this new video from the pretty awesome Tetris = Therapy could certainly use a stream or two...so check it out...please!
