What's happening...

Nothing! Really nothing! Busy at work and lacking motivation to write and post, which is quite a lethal combination. Doing my best, trying to pull my act together and hopefully things will improve. In the meantime...enjoy this fine new pop tune by Danish act The New Investors...

Black lab...

Scanning mails and just found this really catchy and energetic electronic pop/rock piece by US duo The New Monarchs. From the band's forthcoming sophomore album Stay Awake.

When the lights go out...

New single/video from Crybaby. Wonderfully sad...

Blast off...

New video from blog favorites Tetris=Therapy. Not sure if I'm quite getting what the video all about (if it has any point that is), but the track Blast Off, which will be the opening track of the band's forthcoming EP The Temperance, is just brilliant. What I wrote a few years back (just checked - that was as far back as in March 2007, so a little more than a few years), when I first came across the band "The music is an unpredictable blend of just about everything" still seems to be a pretty valid description of the band's musical universe. It's not quite pop, not quite rock, not quite post-rock, not quite etc. It's simply just a whole lot of everything! So much looking forward to give the rest of the EP a listen! Unfortunately I won't be able to attend, but release party tonight at Huset in Copenhagen.

Shorts...

A few more hours and it's weekend. Though I hardly drank any alcohol, I'm still trying to recover from that trip to London.

Think I've listen to the I Like Trains track I posted earlier today at least 30 times. It really is that fabulous...

Because a few of you said so, I actually bothered and gave the new album by The Shins a few listens. No exactly impressed, but promise to invest more time in it!

Musik I Lejet keeps adding new interesting names to the line-up and recent additions include Stoffer og Maskinen and old blog favorite Jonas Breum.

The self-titled debut album by Death Valley Sleepers is now available from iTunes. Need to get myself a copy, but will have to do it from home (no iTunes at work). Quite curious to hear the end result and if it's been possible to improve the demo versions...

Mnemosyne...

Stream new I Like Trains single Mnemosyne. Not half as sad as I expected it to be (though I'm not completely sure about the vocals) and at least twice as brilliant as I hoped it would be! From the band's forthcoming album The Shallows...

The undefeated...

Former (still assuming that they did in fact split up) Champagne Riot frontman Caspar has posted three new demo tracks for streaming/downloading under his new alias The Undefeated. Or to be more precise, two new plus a fine re-work of the old Champagne Riot "classic" Scandinavian Warfare. Sounds great (as always) though not exactly light-years away from the "good old" sound of his old band...not that I mind this at all, as I used to be quite a fan of it!

Easter Island...

The official video for the fantastic Easter Island by The Eclectic Moniker. A big budget video actually taking them to Easter Island would have been cool, but I'm afraid that budgets these days aren't for stuff like that...

Musik i lejet (part II)

4 more names have been added to the lineup of this year's Musik I Lejet festival...so far 7 acts have been announced and I'm totally amazed...my best guess is that the lineup will consist of close to 20 bands/artists, so still plenty of room for adding a few more interesting names...if you missed my first post, the festival will take place on 20-22 July

A year without summer...

Kent gives away the track Ett År Utan Sommer that didn't make the cut for the new album...sounds like the electronic flirt is definitely over!
