Wife's out, kids are sleeping, but no beer tonight as it is Tuesday evening. Mailbox is jammed and there are plenty of blogs to check out. Hopefully something interesting will pop up?
Ivan has written a rather entertaining post on his trip to All Tomorrow's Parties. My short term memory is a joke, as I had completely forgotten our talk about favorite Mew songs. But I do believe we came to the conclusion that Mica is by far their best?
Indie MP3 reviews Criminal Art Lovers. "...we surely need another Smiths to send us blazing into the next decade..."!!
Don't know how many times I've written about that jammed mailbox of mine. But it's true and sometimes means that I forget something I should have posted a long time ago! This includes this Live Foel Session version of Victoria by the Andrew Boland fronted Carnations. Tracks from The Union EP can be streamed at Myspace, but information on a possible release is sparse.

NY duo The Ropes will release their 3-track Love is a Chain Store EP on December 15 using the well-known "pay what you want" model. This is great stuff. Don't know what else to say!

Mail promoting Kylie Minogue...delete...
Soundpool (sort of) mixes disco and shoegaze on their forthcoming 7" single But It's So.

Shorties...
There will be no updates the next couple of days. Going to Jutland tonight to see Interpol live at Train tomorrow night!
Doesn’t seem like that Entakt video from yesterday is working...or is it?
You can stream a whopping 2 minutes of the new Carpark North single at myspace. Don’t know if they are afraid of people recording and sharing it, but seems pointless to me only making a part of it available.
Hits In The Car favorite Andrew Boland has published a lovely new track named Aili.
+ Aili
The Ropes are giving away the title from the duo’s forthcoming album What They Do For Fun. Was surprised how immediately catchy it is.

Another Sunny Day...
No. No. Today's headline is not a reference to that legendary 80's band of the same name, but instead to the fact that the month of May is very close to beating the record as the sunniest month in Denmark since 1920.
Like everyone else, I've just tried to download the new Sigur Rós track Gobbledigook. But since everyone else still seems to be trying to download it, I just receive some nice little error message. Will have to track it down via some blog instead I guess. Btw. Anyone remembers this dialogue from Blackadder goes forth?
Edmund: Yes you did. To tell me some gobbledygook about having a lion up your bottom.
Melchett: Umm...I thought it's the old communications problem again. Stand easy. Action on this is imperative; take that down, Darling.
Darling: Yes, Sir.
Melchett: Also, write down "gobbledygook". I like that word; I want to use it more often in conversation.
Hilarious!
And to make the sun shine even brighter, I've received some info on the new Ed Harcourt album. To be called Beautiful Lie and will be out on Tuesday June 3 in the US. First single Revolution In The Heart sounds quite promising and I've just requested a copy of the album for further "investigations". Will get back to you on this one.

To celebrate their forthcoming UK tour, US duo The Ropes are giving away a free download of the old but excellent single Kill Her Off.

I'm currently streaming a few of the tracks posted by the Lost In The '80s blog. Another setimental sobbing trip down the bricks on memory lane!
Danish indie rock act Munich will release their debut album Those Who Dare on Bad Taste Records on June 16. Eagerly awaited.

Evening Cleaning...
I've removed links to a few blogs that are no longer being updated. Seems like a lot of MP3 bloggers are throwing in the towel these days. Wonder why?My Current Favorites list has been updated!
Spanish band Metropol is sweeping through bloggerland! Chris has already mentioned this in a post earlier today.
Molotov over at A Plague Of Angels has a fine post on Moi Caprice. It's great to see that the band replied to his pleas and sent him two songs in a decent quality (and apparently gave him permission to post them as well). One of them is the new single Drama Queen, which you should grab NOW!
Cleaning out the mailbox......
Dave Martin of folk-pop duo That's Him! That's the Guy! has sent me a mail asking me to check out his band. The second half of the duo is Joe Scott of (the band) Canada, which I mentioned (in a positive way) a while back. Two tracks are available as downloads, and Love Again is a nice up-tempo acoustic track, while These Days is a slower and more electronic one (with a banjo!). I'd probably enjoy both tracks even more, if they were performed live down at the pub.......
+ Love Again
+ These Days
Another quite interesting mail, but of a completely different genre, comes from Australian (but London based) musician/mixer/etc. The Scar. I mentioned the energetic and somewhat Garbage inspired Kill Her Off by The Ropes in this blog at the beginning of the year, but now The Scar has finished a pretty cool mix of this already very cool track. Originally I thought the song would be nothing but a smash hit, but it seems like I was wrong? Actually I've just learned that the first pressing of the EP (1,000 copies) has been sold out and that the second pressing is in the making. Not exactly a smash, but the band seems to be doing quite well!!

I know a lot of people find it difficult to take the friend thing seriously at Myspace. But I have to admit that I consider it to be a great feature and I always think it's cool when a band sends me a friend request. Friend should probably be written "friend" to be more accurate, because surely this is nothing but a marketing tool. But hey - I'm a fan of music and I'm always interested in hearing new music. And so far at least half of the requests I've received have been from bands/artists that turned out to be quite good. New York band The Ropes falls into this category, because the 3 alternative pop type of songs available from the band's webpage are definitely worth a listen or two!The Ropes - Kill Her Off This one is really great!
The Ropes - I Stand For Nothing
The Ropes - Not Technically Alone
