ho ho ho...

Yawn! So here's yet another Christmas themed post in the blogger universe compiling endless of useless Christmas tunes. Dull I know, but since I promised to post one a while ago, I definitely intend to keep my word. So today (it's the 8th), tomorrow, the day after and so on, I'm going to scan my mailbox, computer, the www etc. for nice Christmas tunes to share (and will do my utmost only to post the real good ones, meaning that I'm probably going to include several from years before). Will also try to share only what's already available for free (or freebies from previous years) since this holiday season is all about giving and not about stealing bread from people's mouths. Please note that whenever new songs are added this post will be bumped to the top!

Sink/Let It Sway is the first promo track of the forthcoming Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin album Let It Sway (available for preordering now) and it’s pretty darn good! OK! Not as fabulous as the glorious Oregon Girl, but still plenty to make one starve for more!

Chris posted the monthly new track by Viola a few days ago and today I'm going to do the same. Why? Because the sun is shining, thus making me hope that it will be summer after all! And the upbeat Popsicle Summer really makes one long for the summer and therefore is a lot more listenable when there’s an outside chance of the summer actually being on its way!

Roque (of Cloudberry Records) interviews Danielle, who was one of the organizers of Copenhagen Popfest. As you may recall, I thought that the Popfest was a smash and apparently chances are good that there will be a 2011 edition as well. That’s good news if you ask me! And here's to hoping that Roque will be able to go next year!

Hopefully it's no secret that the aforementioned Cloudberry Records is a true treasury, when you’re in need of a good pop song. Here's a perfect example taken from a recent release.

An Ostrich in Wonderland...

One of my few readers has left a comment and asked if I could re-upload the Ostrich track Wonderland. I originally posted it way back in November 2007 and back then I wasn’t really sure whether or not it was meant to be a Christmas tune. Still not sure, but the band has okayed that I share it once again, so here we go. Speaking of Ostrich; a new fabulous track named Prepared To Fall is now streamable at Myspace. Still impatiently awaiting the duo's first release on Cynical Minds Recordings.

Another fine track streaming at Myspace is the brand new Almost Gone from Grand Avenue. Taken from the band’s 4th album, which I believe will be out some time this fall judging from the tour dates.

Finnish duo Viola is giving away the track Shimmery Summery (Sha-La-La Love), which is yet another song you really should add to that ever growing summer soundtrack.

This young lady doesn't seem to realize how truly fortunate she is. She claims to be "bored while Stefan is recording", but since the Stefan in question happens to be Stefan of Nothern Portrait, this actually means that she's a first-hand witness to the recordings of the Northern Portrait debut album. No, no - I'm not interested in being Stefan's next girlfriend (among things, it would require rather extensive sugery), but I'd still give a lot to be able to follow the process and hear those new songs before anyone else!

Fine Danish blog Blaa Vinyl has been added to the blogroll. A good read, but you probably need to understand Danish to fully appreciate it!
