Recovering...

I’m still trying to recover from the weekend. Too much to drink combined with various physical activities (go-carting, playing basketball etc.) is a lethal cocktail. So the boys and I have come to the only obvious conclusion that although we are pretending to be, we are no longer 17 years old...or 35 for that matter! What’s my age again?

Did you read the comment posted by Adam Svanell the other day? Would be rather fantastic if a couple of “forgotten” Memoplay tracks suddenly popped up! Crossing my fingers...

News found via It’s A Trap. At least another 5 months to go before the third album by The Radio Dept. will be out. My impatience and expectations have if possible reached new heights!

+ Freddie and the trojan horse

Speaking of expectations, I have to admit that I’m a bit underwhelmed by the new single Puzzles by The Mary Onettes. It’s really nice and all that, but I know it’s all my fault as I’m expecting each new song by the band to (at least) match Explosions. And of course I know it's a longshot, as it’s more than difficult to imagine how the band could possibly write a more perfect pop song than said Explosions (watch the video below and agree!).

Shorties...

I’ve learned that IFPI (who else?) was responsible for the complaint I mentioned yesterday. I’ve mailed them, but I seriously doubt that I’ll ever get any explanation.

Today is Bad Lieutenant day, as the band is giving away their new single Sink or Swim for free. You do have to enter your email address, but it's well worth it. In case you've never heard of Bad Lieutenant (well of course you have) it's the new band of ex-New Order frontman Bernard Sumner.

Unfortunately the new single Heavenly by The Storm pretty much destroy all hopes that the band’s sophomore album Black Luck will be any better than the debut.

Coincidence or? I mentioned Bodebrixen exactly two weeks ago and Wednesday a promo mail arrived. Full of the usual "yada yada", but also included the essential information that the album will be out October 12. Lovely new track Suit Your Needs can be streamed at Blaa Vinyl.

Trade a cloud picture for four new songs by Björn Kleinhenz. That's a fairly generous offer, isn't it? However I'm still dreaming that he'll someday reunite with Adam Svanell and record more songs for the really intriguing Memoplay project. But I'm afraid that I'll have to accept that this duo is all but dead. The fabulous 4 track EP is still free to download from Last.fm.

That and This...

According to this page Under Byen will be touring Denmark this fall. September 29 the band will make a stop in Helsingør and it probably would be stupid not to go?

The youngsters from Electrojuice have created a remix of the VETO track You Are A Knife. Think I prefer the original version!

That Labrador Summer Sampler yesterday took forever to download. And it just seems to be a compilation of all their previous freebies (see the complete list here), so it's kind of disappointing. But I'll try to listen my way through all the tracks later today. I really should be fair. Even though I know most the tracks already, this sampler certainly has made me listen to a few tracks that I haven't been listening to for a very long (perhaps even too long) time. Like for example...
+ Sambassadeur - Between The Lines
+ Afraid of Stairs - Not Today
+ [Ingenting] - Släpp In Solen
+ The Legends - Play It For Today

Anyone know if Memoplay (Adam Svanell + Björn Kleinhenz) will ever record another song? The band's webpage closed down a while ago, but now the 4 songs from the duo's (one and only) EP are available for free again - this time at Last.fm.
