Eternal death...

News->debut song from the most recent artist signed to Sweden's finest; Labrador Records. Eternal Death consists of...who knows, but please do start guessing!? Wouldn't be surprised though, if it's a kind of gimmick, where it at some later point will revealed that it's a constellation of artists involved in other Labrador related bands!?...but debut single Head is a really fine and catchy electronic pop single, which verifies that it's not a coincidence (whoever turns out to be hiding behind the alias) that this artist has been added to the Labrador roster.

SoundCloud ser nu helt anderledes og ganske så forkert ud...en god huskeregel er, at gamle hunde meget nødigt vil lære at sidde, og at fjolser som undertegnede ikke bryder sig om forandringer. Så re-design og alt det der er mægtig fint, men for helvede, hvor er det besværligt (sagde jeg og tog mig nok et syrligt drop). Apropos SoundCloud. Da vi er så heldige at benytte os af det helt forrygende Internet Explorer her på arbejde, kan jeg ikke se de numre fra SoundCloud som jeg "embedder". Håber så sandelig, at alle andre kan!

The wife’s out, the kids are watching TV, I’m having a beer and enjoying that for once the computer is mine…aaaaall mine! Really tired tonight, but having a few things I’d like to post and share, so sleep is put on hold!

Boxstr.net still isn't working. Will be quite interesting if they have the nerve to keep charging their monthly fee, but "at least" their support hasn't replied to any of my emails. Great, great service (can you spell sarcasm...s-a-r-c-a-s-m)...Fuckers!

On a far more positive note. Earlier today the always helpful and up-to-date Mikkel pointed my attention to the little known, but nonetheless absolutely brilliant Danish one-man project Flag White. The debut EP, which can be downloaded for free (or for whatever amount you wish to pay) via bandcamp, contains 5 tracks that could be described as electronic indie pop/rock with a twist of shoegaze. Totally likeable stuff!

More positive news comes from The Boombox Hearts, who are in the studio recording a good old-fashioned single (though not so old-fashioned that there will be any physical copies) with an a-side (the hit) and a b-side (which they expect that no one will give a damn about). Btw. Ivan of the band thinks we should all listen to the new single by Halasan Bazar, which indeed is very nice and reminds me a bit of The Rumour Said Fire!

Despite my initial disappointment with the new Kent single, I’m still planning to buy tickets for the band’s concert on March 13 next year at Copenhagen’s new venue Tap1. Tickets go on sale on Monday.

Four new tracks by The Electric Pop Group are now streaming at Myspace. Seems like the band’s second album Seconds will be out come November, but as usual the Matinée Recordings webpage hasn’t been updated for a while.

Spent some time this morning deleting more than 1,200 mails from my inbox. Still another 600 left, and I need to get much better at doing this regularly. I know I am going on and on about this, but sometimes it’s almost unreal how many emails I receive promoting absolutely unlistenable stuff. Where does the money paying for this really come from?

Probably should start deleting some Myspace friends as well. Got far too many and far too few are of any interest (posting far too many not very interesting bulletins).

Buffet Libre is working on the second part of the cover project Rewind. The first one was dedicated entirely to the 80’s, but in the next edition the 70’s and 80’s will be included. First appetizer is this cover of a dance floor classic.

Seems like Doves are busy recording their fourth album. Lost Souls was great, The Last Broadcast phenomenal but Some Cities was quite a disappointment. So I'm anxiously crossing my fingers and hoping for a return to form.

It's the second single from the album In A Nutshell released earlier this year on Labrador. I love this label and its policy of giving away the single title tracks for free! The track itself is up-tempo, catchy and utterly charming and should be the perfect fit on any summer soundtrack with the trumpets, handclaps and absolutely irresistible tune! The sun isn't shining right now, but I really feel like going to the beach!

Another fine one from the Labrador back-catalogue" overlooked" by Chris is Everything That's You by Airliner. It should be obvious to everyone by now that I'm a big fan of Labrador, but their webpage could easily be a bit (or rather a lot) more informative. The track is from the album The Last Days of August that I believe must be at least 3 years old (catalogue no. is LAB030 and they have just reached no. 100), but I'm not certain. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter, when the song is as wonderful as this one.

My German is really bad these days (my last exam in German was in 1987), so to me the band name (Clickclickdecker) and the song title (Wer hat mir auf die Schuhe gekotzt) pretty much sound like jokes. The music is some kind of electronica/pop, and this track is surprisingly catchy.

The 4 track EP I wanna be like Johnny C by Swedish quartet Loveninjas is out today and as usual Labrador (once again proving that it's the best and most innovative label around) has made the title track of an EP release available as a free download. The 3 other tracks of the EP will not appear on the debut album The Secret of the Loveninjas, which will be released next month, so plenty of (or at least 3) good reasons to buy the EP! Finally I owe to mention that the track is just great!
