Grab the new She Wants Revenge track below in exchange for your email address. As written when I posted the video; the track is utterly brilliant, so this it's really (really, really) worth the trouble.

Today I'll...
...you guessed it! Drink loads of coffee and try to get some work done! Yada yada yada – time to come up with something new dude!
...stream the (entire) new The William Blakes album Music Wants To Be Free from Soundcloud. Expect it to sound nothing like the previous three albums by the band.
Wasted Years by The William Blakes
…listen (already have) to new track Hollywood by The Oxygen Ponies a number of times. A real grower!
Hollywood by The Oxygen Ponies
...impatiently be waiting for the new Entakt video for Størrelse 43 (size 43) to be published.
...spend some time scratching my head while trying to figure out why people are so high on the new albums by Radiohead and Bright Eyes. Both albums have their moments (I have no problems admitting that), but most of the time I felt like I was wasting my time.
...listen to the forthcoming self-titled Oh Land album.

Today I'll...
...once again drinks loads and loads of coffee. Sleeping well these days (nights), but still I'm tired like never before.
...of course get some work done. This is the busy season for people like me!
...listen to ace new single Saint Song by Cartridge at least a dozen times. Stream it and let’s tap our feet together.
Saint Song by Cartridge
...give The People’s Key a listen. One reviewer claims it is simply one the best Bright Eyes albums; which I believe is quite something!
...try to make up my mind whether or not I like the new Figurines track New Colors.
...be happy that the download link at Burlesque Records for the Refractory Period by The Sexual Outlaws is finally up and running. But at the same time be a wee bit disappointed that the EP contains the exact same tracks as those available from the band’s webpage.
...give the free be the one EP by Moby another listen.

Today I'll...
...drink loads of coffee to help me stay awake.
...do my best to get some work done.
...give The King of Limbs another listen. As tweeted by MP3Hugger yesterday: “Wish Radiohead would drop being interesting in favour of writing decent tunes. They are quickly becoming not worth the effort.” I’ll see the light someday I hope, but after two listens the album is as interesting as (insert whatever boring stuff you can think of).
...listen to the In Soviet Russia, My Heart Breaks You album by Brooklyn indie-pop act Overlord at least twice. The two songs included in the “mixtapes” this past weekend are simply brilliant and of course I cross fingers hoping that the rest of the album is just as good.
+ Oh, My Mechanical Heart!
+ Keep It from the Baby
...listen to the single My Way by new act The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen to learn if it as great as some people say it is. Free download here.
...smile a few times knowing that The Boombox Hearts have fallen in love with one of last year’s best songs; Open Season by High Highs.
+ Open Season
...continue to wait for the download link at Burlesque Records to start functioning, so I can download the label’s first release; The Refractory Period EP by The Sexual Outlaws. Yet another band featured in one of those weekend "mixtapes".
+ Xes
...check out brand new Danish band Dead Lovers.

OK - Lego...
Just found a promo mail for new track Lego by Welsh quartet OK and since Lego is our nation’s pride (sort of - don't forget Carlsberg), I (sort of) felt obliged to check it out. The track itself is a (sort of) The Smiths inspired guitar pop thing, which I'm afraid left me somewhat unimpressed. But the video is absolutely hilarious (though it doesn’t feature one single block of Lego) and I expect those puppets to soon appear on t-shirts, mugs, posters, stamps, stickers, you name it!

On the radio this morning...
Humor is an individual thing I know, but to me this is one of the funniest music videos ever...
Every morning when the girls and I are having breakfast the radio is on, and from time to time it does happen that some really fine stuff is aired, thus helping to make the start of the day a good one. The “On the radio this morning” posts are my humble attempt to make your start a good one as well!

Saturday sixpack...
So last night I spent yet another Friday evening cleaning the mailbox and once again 200+ mails ended up biting the dust. Some bands (and their music) avoided the broom and deserve a little exposure. Here are six of the better ones unearthed last night...
+ overlord - Oh, My Mechanical Heart!
+ Novel Ideas - On Fire
+ Acid House Kings - Would you say stop?
+ Chateau Marmont - One Hundred Realities
+ Team Me - Dear Sister
+ Sleeping In Airports - If The Bombs Start Dropping

Need you now...
Of course I’ve heard of Cut Copy, but so very typically me I never pay much attention to bands that are being (over-?) hyped. So yes; I’ve ignored them and the many promo mails (though I did in fact listen to Where I'm Going back in July last year). But this morning I received yet another promo mail and for some (completely unknown) reason it lured me to check out brand new video for Need You Know…and I was blown away (by the song and not so much by the video, which is somewhat “over the top”)! Because I just can't help being a sucker for catchy up-tempo electro pop tunes and that’s exactly what you’re getting here. Hell; it even reminds me somewhat of OMD, when they were at their best in the mid-80’s and music has probably never sounded better than it did back then. The version featured in the video is just 4 minutes long, so once you’ve watched the video I strongly recommend that you head over to MFKWCRG and download the massive album version of the track, which runs for a little more than 6 minutes! It's a stunner...

No words needed, really! Still the best band in the world...by far...

History of modern...
OMD has picked this as the winning video of the History of Modern (Pt 1) competition. Well-made and fun to watch, plus I really enjoyed the "cameo" of several older OMD releases. And the quick homage to Barry White and Love Unlimited (see if you can spot it) clearly shows that the videomakers know their OMD history. Check the somewhat New Order inspired, but really fine Selebrities remix of the same song below.

Breathe and forget...
The Raveonettes are back and will release new album (their fifth) Raven in the Grave on April 5. When I heard first promo track off the album, the gorgeous Forget That you’re Young, I immediately thought “man, this is so vintage Sharin and Sune”. Then when I received the first promo mail (of probably a dozen), I learned that I was all wrong because “…the familiar bombastic beats and squalls of guitar-noise take a backseat…”. Damn! I never get these things right; do I?
+ Forget That You're Young
So maybe I’ve pigeonholed The Raveonettes, but I doubt I’ll ever make the same mistake with fellow Danish band The William Blakes. Give new single The Light (Plane to Spain) below a listen and then compare it to the title track of forthcoming album Music Wants To Be Free (Breathe), and you’ll probably agree they don’t sound anything alike. But the band has always made a virtue out of doing exactly what they please, which seems to ring true more than ever!

Sunday music...
Despite all my whining, I did manage to find this handful of songs later Friday evening after I had finished yesterday's post (just for the record - I worked my way through 200+ mails to find these songs). As those yesterday, these are worth checking out as well me thinks!
+ Eksi Ekso - Carte De Visite
+ Beach Fossils - Calyer
+ The Sexual Outlaws - Xes
+ Algodón Egipcio - El Día Previo
+ The District Attorneys - Sweetheart All Reckless and Humble

Saturday sixpack...
Spent several hours last night checking promo mails and to tell the truth; what a bumpy ride it was. I really tried to be open-minded, unbiased, flexible, tolerant etc. in a way I honestly doubt I’ve ever been before. But still it was tough as hell finding six tracks I felt was worth sharing. I know I’ve written this many times before, but some of the songs are of such poor quality that the promo stuff has to be mailed out with either great naivety or with tongues firmly in cheeks. In the end I did manage to find these six tracks (quite a mixed bag they are) and though neither song will get any further introduction I still hope you’ll check them out, because it sure was hard work finding them!

Take the world...
Fresh video by She Wants Revenge for utterly brilliant new track Take The World. This is the first new music from the band in 4 years, but not much has changed, as the cool, dark and synth-heavy sound I remember them for remains. The track is from the band's new album (yet unnamed), which will be out some time later this spring/early summer!

Out of it...
Here’s a rather phenomenal “live TV studio version” of one of the most popular songs in Denmark at the moment; Fallulah performing the theme song Out of it for the (rather funny) Danish “depression comedy” Lykke. Have to admit that even I (who normally thinks that shows that are supposed to be funny are anything but) enjoy both (the show and the song).
Just found this Soundcloud stream of the song.

Various...
A short of apology to all of those mailing me their promo stuff. At 10 a.m. I had exactly 3,971 mails in my inbox, so the chances of me ever reading your mails are…well…slim. And even smaller that you'll ever hear anything (good or bad) back from me! I’m sorry if I’m wasting your time, but that’s how things are and how they will (most likely) remain!
One of my current favorite tracks; Flowers Bloom by High Highs; is doing terribly well on the Hypem popular songs chart. Go heart it!
+ Flowers Bloom
I’ve spent a large part of the past 24 hours thoroughly enjoying the Psychic Powers debut Infinity. One complaint though! Why didn’t they include this terrific RAC remix of Dreamboat? Could have been the perfect bonus track!

Zimmerman remix...
Entakt shares this Spejderrobot remix of recent single Zimmerman. The remix is far too alternative for my taste as it bears close to no resemblance to the original version (video posted below the remix), but since I am quite a fan of the band (you probably know this by now), I never waste an opportunity to give the band some exposure. If you happened to miss it, go check out the somewhat more interesting Dub Tractor remix of the same track, which I posted back in December.

Belong...
Check out new The Pains of Being Pure at Heart single Belong. It’s the title track from the band’s second album due March 9 and though I really should know better than posting this, I cannot help being a tiny bit anxious about the album, as (in my opinion) both Belong and Heart In You Heartbreak are among the weakest songs I’ve heard from the band to date. And by that I DON’T mean that the songs are bad. They are not ever remotely close to being that; but they just don’t quite seem to reach the glorious heights of almost every track on the debut. And if you try to be honest and stop being biased for a moment; weren’t the Higher Than The Stars EP and both tracks on the 7" single Say No To Love vastly better than these two album previews? Honestly? Oh well. Not much one can do about it anyway. Instead I plan to spend the next month biting my nails hoping there was nothing to worry about after all...

Heartbreaking sound of joy...
Watch Death Valley Sleepers perform a wonderful stripped down version of Heartbreaking Sound of Joy. The band will be playing live at Drone (Copenhagen) on next Thursday (February 10).
Oh Land covers Fleet Foxes...
Pretty much speaks for itself, but a really nice (though quite alternative) version of White Winter Hymnal. No rescheduling this time (I think), so her US debut album will still be out on March 15...
And while you're watching/listening, why not grab the original by Fleet Foxes?

Fragile...
Fragile, a new track by The Blueflowers, can be streamed from the band’s Facebook page. Taken from their forthcoming album In Line With The Broken-Hearted. Still 5 days left to make up your mind, whether or not you want to help fund the album.
The William Blakes is this month’s guest contributor at mixtoverdener.dk, using samples from Danish composer Anders Brødsgaard to create their own version (or rather own unique work) called Music Wants To Be Free (Breathe). The track will be included on the band’s fourth album due sometime later this year (I suppose)…

Physical copies of The Moonstruck EP by Champagne Riot have finally arrived at the Matinée Recordings HQ and are ready to be shipped (once you have placed your order of course!)…The entire EP can be streamed from the Champagne Riot website.

Helplessness Blues...
As I have yet another busy day ahead me (too many of those recently), I’m going to take the easy road and post the new Fleet Foxes track. Since it’s already been posted by every second music blog within the first 24 hours of its release, this is hardly the most creative thing to do. But then again; the overwhelming reception clearly demonstrates that the world is ready for the band’s sophomore release...and so am I. Out on Subpop on May 3 and will be titled Helplessness Blues.
