Släpp in solen...

I know I posted this one on my Facebook wall the other day, but on a wonderful autumn day like today, I simply cannot think of a more perfect song to share!

Insomnia...

This week has been real terrible from a sleeping point of view. Perhaps it's a little too early to start talking about insomnia (so let’s call it sleep deprivation instead), but 3-4 hours of sleep a night really isn’t doing anything good for neither brain nor body. So if what I write today makes no or little sense (as if it ever does), you know now why!

Earlier this week I started deleting Myspace “friends” and the cleaning continues, as far too many useless artists post far too many repetitive (and useless) updates, thus cluttering the news/update stream and “drowning” the few useful ones that do pop up from time to time!

Cannot say that I was all that impressed by the live performance of Swedish trio (quartet) Liechtenstein at Copenhagen Popfest, but new track (lead track of the soon to be released single) Passion for Water is in fact a more than competent indie pop tune!

Just read this post over at Faronheit. Now there is a blog receiving exactly the same promo mails as I do (including the songs/remix featured below)! Check the post out and don’t forget to download the really fine Just Can't Sleep (Stupid Human Remix) by The Aikiu.

Last month I expressed my discontent with a remix of Korallreven’s Truest Faith. Now yet another remix has surfaced and though this isn’t even half as bad as the aforementioned remix attempt, it’s still rather weak when compared to the original version.

Labrador shares a second track by [ingenting] from the album Tomhet, idel tomhet. No band I can possibly think of captures the feel of summer better than [ingenting].

Plus these two summer favorites:

Speaking of summer favorites. Two years ago I predicted that the self-titled debut album by This Is Ivy League would be that year’s summer album. I guess it didn’t exactly turn out that way and since then things have been pretty quiet around the band. But who knows? Perhaps (and hopefully) another gem like this one is in the making?

Let the sunshine in...

In April last year I posted these two beautiful tracks by Sweden’s [ingenting], because the sun was shining, which made me feel all summery! Today I am posting the same two tracks for the exact opposite reason. It’s the coldest, darkest and snowiest winter ever(you know; the one they are going to write about in history books and the one my grandchildren will hear about again and again) and no matter how hard I try, I seriously cannot recall what the sunshine on my skin feels like! No question I’m in the midst of a winter depression of major proportions!

Various...

It's time to remove a few names from the "to-do-list".

I've been listening to I Am John, I don't know how many times today. Don't know exactly why either, but for some reason it has caught my attention (once again) and is now stuck in my head (and refuses to leave).

New single Halleluja! by [ingenting] must be as close to pop perfection as you'll ever get! From the forthcoming album Tomhet, idel Tomhet, which is now available for preordering.

Talented Danish youngsters Tetris = Therapy has announced that they'll start re-recording their old material as well as record a few new songs. 6 older tracks are free to download from BandBase.dk.

Champagne Riot is no longer a one-man project and should now be labeled a band (or trio to be nitpicking correct). Will be interesting to see if the full line-up will be on stage on Sunday.

Lovely UK indie pop band The Cavalcade has three new tracks streaming at Myspace. The 3 tracks are included on the band's second EP the Edition 59 EP, which will be released August 5. If you haven't guessed already, only 59 copies of the EP will be printed.

The sun is shining...

...so had to post these two. Sorry about the short post, but just couldn't resist. In case you don't know them already (and you seriously should) they are by Sweden's [ingenting] and are oozing of summer.

An early Christmas present...

To celebrate that it is their first release to ever reach the famous Swedish Trackslistan (entered at no. 17), the band's label Labrador are giving away the EP Punkdrömmar by [ingenting] for free.

New single by [Ingenting]...

Download the new single by [Ingenting] called Punkdrömmar. Once again Labrador proves what marketing is all about and gives away a new single for free! I'm sure this will only help boosting the sales of the band's second album Mycket väsen för ingenting, which will be out on October 18!!
The first single of the album Släpp In Solen was a wonderful pop song, but despite its energy and 70's (pop/punk) inspiration, the new one is quite a disappointment.
