Checking mails, reading news etc. tonight.
Ruined by Martin has announced that the band will be playing at Pakhuset in Århus on September 17. Great to see things are kicking off.
+ Seven Years
This has to be the worst song to come out of Sweden for I don’t know how many years. Though I’ll have to admit that it is actually quite funny, hearing my 3 year old daughter roaming around the house shouting “svennebanan”.
Seems like NY shoegazers Soundpool will soon have a new album out, as the band has put up a 12 minutes sampler at Myspace from “our newest album” Mirrors In Your Eyes. The sampler is downloadable via Last.fm.
+ Mirrors In Your Eyes (album sampler)
Swedish label Hybris is giving away a free download of the fine new Biker Boy single, which is a cover of the incredibly lovely Peter Sarstedt evergreen Where do you go to (my lovely)?.
+ Where do you go to (my lovely)?
One-man band Boy Without God was picked Gaffa's demo of June as the album Your Body Is Your Soul received 6 out of 6 possible stars. That combined with the opening track Holy Holy Little Fist being labelled "possibly one of the best songs I've heard this year" has really sparked my interest.

Shorties...
According to an article today (it’s in Danish, but read it here if you like) several nightclubs have successfully kept troublemakers away by not playing hip-hop and rap. Now you draw your own conclusions, but shitty music attracts...
In his blog yesterday the infamous Myspace founder Tom claimed that the download links for free tracks are back again. However I have yet to find one downloadable track, but am seriously looking forward to whenever things are back working properly again.
Biker Boy doesn't seem to be able to make the download function work, so he has posted download links for October Song as well as the remix of the track done by House of Primates. The firewall at work doesn't like the links, but I hope they are working!?
+ October Song
+ October Song (Remix)
Great service! Slow Shark Records has mailed me a copy of the debut album We Are Popular by The Holiday Show…nearly 3 weeks before it’s released!
Hits In The Car favorite Pete White has added two newly recorded tracks to his Myspace player as well as a lovely new version of Hand Signals.
October 10 at 10am a new and vastly improved version (so we're told) of Gaffa.dk will be launched.
Here’s the brand new video for the beautiful Värnhem by Emerald Park.

Shorties...
Don’t think I’ve actually mentioned it, but that Napoleon Sweetheart EP by Northern Portrait is sheer brilliance. And the trio is currently working on their debut album Criminal Art Lovers, which obviously is terrific news. Is it too optimistic to hope for an early Christmas present?
+ I Give You Two Seconds To Entertain Me
Danish synth-pop duo Blue Swan is (via mymusic.dk) sharing their brand new track Hunter and Prey. The boys certainly know how to conjure a catchy pop tune, and it will be interesting to follow, if all the new recordings will lead to some much deserved attention from a few labels. Or if it will be yet another internet freebie release, which I obviously don't mind at all, although seeing them signed would be an even bigger thrill.
+ Hunter and Prey
While the indie pop world is awaiting the next Celestial album (should be out anytime soon), why not listen to My Lily Of The Valley; another project of Celestial front man Andreas. A 3 track EP has just been released on Cloudberry Records. Thanks go to J.A. for this fine one!
+ Precious Moments
September Song by Biker Boy has now been published and free to download during the first week of September.
A babysitter has been arranged, so barring the unforeseen I’ll be at Rust September 19 to pay farewell to Velour.

Shorties (short edition)...
Fuck I’m getting old. I was a wee bit drunk Saturday evening and my body is still in complete recovery mode.
My condition makes it almoste impossible focusing on stuff too complicated, so electro pop tunes like this one by MakeUpBreakUp are exactly what I need.
+ Jungle City
Jonas recaptures his Roskilde Festival 2008 experience.
Still enough time left to grab Chanson de juillet by Biker Boy.

This and that...
Thus ends the feuilleton. In May the sun shone for a total of 347 hours and became the sunniest month in Denmark since 1920. And if the weather forecast is to be trusted, the sun will continue to shine for the rest of the week and hopefully make this year’s Vesterbro Festival a much “dryer” experience than last year.
The second Northern Portrait EP Napoleon Sweetheart will be released in July. Opening track will be a re-edited and mastered version of I Give You Two Seconds To Entertain Me, which can now be streamed at Myspace.
June Song by Biker Boy has been published at Myspace and it's business as usual, so the track is free to download during the first week of the month.
Indonesian indie pop quartet Sunny Summer Day has just released a six track EP named Me, Myself & The Empty Soul on Letterbox Records. Promo track So Much Fun is yet another one of those enjoyable catchy pop songs that this band seems to be throwing our way in bunches.
+ So Much Fun
Songs I Wish I Had Written gives away another free single from the Moto Boy album. And a lovely new baby it is!
+ What it was like to be with you
Currently giving the Walter Meego album Voyager a good listen. Mix dance and disco in the big synth-driven pop blender and you'll probably end up with sweet pop music like this. Infectious to say the least and this is defintitely another candidate for the soundtrack of the summer.

zzz...
Damn I’m tired today…zzz…
Danish author Thomas Ladegaard writes a few nice words about this blog and re-posts the video by Imperiet. Yay!
Found the album by now split-up quartet Coolsville (former band of Jonas Breum) at the local CD store the other day. Certainly different from the sound of BREUMM, and the melodies aren’t as strong. Nevertheless it’s quite enjoyable.
Excellent Swedish synth pop duo Ostrich has been promising us new songs for some time, but seems to be experiencing a few computer problems. Be patient and the songs will be published in April (hopefully)!
+ Icecold Kisses
April Song by Biker Boy has been posted and is available for download (for one week only).

Shorties...
I seriously need to get some speakers for this ancient computer at work. March Song by Biker Boy is now available to stream and download (for free during the first seven days of March) and for the aforementioned reason (no speakers equals no music) I haven’t listened to it yet. But hopefully it's just as excellent as the previous two tracks of this interesting and quite ambitious project.
It’s Band of Horses night tomorrow. Looking forward to see what I've read should be a very good live act. Also looking forward to meeting a few of the friendly lads from the Frekvens team.
+ The Funeral
You’re probably fed up by how I’m trying to hype Northern Portrait, but all I can say is get used to it. My copy of the Fallen Aristocracy EP arrived Saturday and I promise you that it will take you on a trip to indie pop heaven for12 minutes 20 seconds. Angmoh has posted one of the older tracks not on the EP.
Danish electronic pop/rock act Volvoe is looking for a new bass player. So if you live in Copenhagen (or somewhere close), are serious about your music, know how to play the bass etc. etc. – why not send the boys an email?

Shorties...
Lovely indie act st famous that I mentioned back in October has been signed to Norwegian label Reel Noise.
+ Lazy Opera
+ Tired and Emotional
February Song by Biker Boy is now available as a free download and will remain so for the first week of February. So for now the project "one year, twelve songs" carries on!
Kristian over at Frekvens interviews Yoav!
UK alternative/folk ("folktronica") artist Eugene Francis jnr will have his debut album The Golden Beatle out on April 28. First single Poor Me is an excellent track that fits that "folktronica" label rather well! Note to self - check out the rest of the album!

J.A. recommends – Swedish edition...
In these busy days J.A. provides a much needed helping hand, by sending updates on this trio of fine Swedish bands.
Indie poppers Japan Air have made two lovely new tracks available for download.

Biker Boy is working on a project called “Calendar 2008 – One Year, Twelve Songs”. First output is appropriately named January Song and this instantly catchy pop song immediately raised the expectations for the rest of the year!
+ January Song
+ January Song (Sporty Fred remix)
Depeche Mode inspired electro pop duo Ostrich gives away another new track. I've mentioned the duo a few times before, and I'd really love to hear a full length release from these super cool guys!
