The other day the excellent Danish music site Mymusic.dk posted the lists of the most downloaded tracks of 2006 in various genres. Unfortunately you have to be a registered member (and understand Danish) to be able to download the music. So I'm giving you a helping hand and posting a few of the more popular ones below.
+ VETO - You Are A Knife
This well-known track was the most downloaded in the rock genre. The world is already waiting for the next output! And giving away the first single and best track for free is the right attitude!
+ Anne-Stine Feat. Innocent Blood - Randersgade
This was the most popular pop track. Wonder why, because this is really not my cup of tea.
+ Sidste Ambulance - Når Jeg Dør
Topping the list of popular electronic tracks. Sidste Ambulance's debut album (released last year) was quite a disappointment, but still the album version of Når Jeg Dør was a lot better than this earlier version....
+ Campsite - Lines Intact
I was quite surprised to find this one available for free, as I've often wanted to mention Campsite in the blog. The band's 2006 debut Names, dates & places was actually quite good and this (the first single of the album) is a nice up-tempo and catchy one.

While the sun is shining,

Secret Machines - Ten Silver Drops
Grab two album tracks here or listen to acoustic versions of three album tracks here. Two listens and I'm completely overwhelmed by how good this album is!

Le Sport - Euro Deluxe Dance Party

On the back of the CD the band has written "This disc contains all the songs plus bonus tracks in mp3 format for easy sharing and listening with modern technology." That's the right attitude! No surprises on this album and the music is absolutely perfect for a Euro Deluxe Dance Party!

+ Superhelt
+ Min Natsommerfugl
Hopefully they'll be releasing a full length album soon, because (as you may have noticed?) I really like this band!!

Saturday's All Right For....
....listening to music!
UK indie band The Upper Room will release their debut album Other People's Problem in August this year. Hopefully the rest of the album will be as great as these two songs (not sure if Combination is going to be an album track).

Danish band Sidste Ambulance sounds absolutely fabulous and the band describes the music as "a mix between Röyksopp, Air, Eels and Flaming Lips". Don't be scared by the fact that they sing in Danish, because these guys are really cool!
+ Naar Jeg Doer

More or less every blogger out there has mentioned Danish duo Munck//Johnson, but for some odd reason had I decided to ignore the band. But tonight I finally gave the duo a closer listen and I'm glad I did, because the songs are acoustic, quiet and really beautiful!
